SALISBURY, MD - The BlueClaws scored three runs in the top of the 8th inning to come back and top Delmarva 6-5 on Wednesday afternoon at Perdue Stadium.

Lakewood (18-20), who trailed 3-0 after one inning, took the lead on a SAC fly by Jose Mayorga, before Alexis Rivero got the last six outs for his second save. The BlueClaws snapped a three-game losing streak and avoided a three-game sweep in Salisbury. The three-run deficit was the largest overcome by the BlueClaws this year. Delmarva falls to 21-18 with the loss.

The BlueClaws scored their three 8th inning runs off reliever Derrick Bleeker. Hits by Carlos Tocci and Rhys Hoskins started the inning, before Damek Tomscha ripped an RBI double to left. Jiandio Tromp followed with an RBI single that tied the game and Jose Mayorga's sacrifice fly put the BlueClaws ahead for the first time.

Joey DeNato (1-1) earned the win, getting four outs in relief of starter Tyler Viza, who allowed five runs in 5.2 innings of work while striking out six.

Trailing 3-0, the BlueClaws got on the board on a 2nd inning SAC fly from Grenny Cumana. Then in the 3rd inning, they tied the game on a Rhys Hoskins RBI triple followed by a SAC fly from Damek Tomscha.

Elier Leyva took Tyler Viza deep in the 4th inning to put Delmarva ahead 5-3. The Shorebirds scored three times in the first inning, two on a triple from Conor Bierfeldt, the league's RBI leader with 36.

Carlos Tocci, Rhys Hoskins, and Damek Tomscha all had two hits for the BlueClaws.

The BlueClaws return home and open a four-game series with Greensboro on Thursday night. RHP Ranfi Casimiro (1-3) starts the series opener for the BlueClaws against Grasshoppers RHP Jordan Cavanerio (0-0).
