GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Greenville Road Warriors kick off a three-game home stand against the Florida Everblades tonight at 7:05 p.m. at the BI-LO Center. Greenville is 1-0-1 against the Everblades this season including the team's first win ever on October 21, 2010..

11/7/10 - GRW 1-GWT 6

The Road Warriors struck first, but Gwinnett's offense responded in a big way with six unanswered goals as the Gladiators took two of three from the Road Warriors last weekend. Shane Harper notched his first professional goal at 5:12 of the first period with the goal coming on the power playl. Connor Shields redirected a point shot by Blake Parlett and Harper was in perfect position to send the shot home. The Gladiators pushed four specialty teams goals (3 PPG, 1 SHG) past Dov Grumet-Morris, who was making his first start as a Road Warrior, over the final two periods. Ryan Garbutt led the way with a pair of goals while Paul Flache had a pair of assists in support of Billy Sauer who had 32 saves in net. Grumet-Morris had 21 saves for the Road Warriors.

11/7/10 - FLA 4-S.C. 3

The Everblades were a mere two seconds from falling to the Stingrays in regulation, but former NHL-er Nick Tarnasky potted his first of the season to send the game into extra minutes. Tarnasky then helped to set up Mitch Fadden's game winner on the power play 1:27 into the overtime session. The Everblades had to forge a furious rally as the Stingrays led 3-0 heading into the third period. Matthew Pistilli led the way with a goal and two assists while team-leading goal scored Alex Imbeault picked up a goal and an assist. Bobby Goepfert earned the win with 24 saves.

WHAT'S ON TAP FOR TONIGHT:

Greenville will look to continue it's strong play on home ice. The Road Warriors have won four of six games at the BI-LO Center this season and are tied for the league lead for the most home wins. The Road Warriors have out-scored opponents 24-16 at the BI-LO Center this season and their 24 goals are the second most on home ice behind only Stockton (25).

The Road Warriors suffered back-to-back regulation defeats for the first time last weekend at the hands of the Gwinnett Gladiators while Florida is working on a two-game winning streak and has won five of its last six games. Greenville's only regulation defeat at home came on October 24 in a 4-2 loss to the South Carolina Stingrays.

Three new additions could make their Road Warriors debuts this weekend. Jimmy Kilpatrick and Paul McIlveen were signed to ECHL contracts yesterday while rookie Brandon Wong was loaned to the Road Warriors from the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack on Tuesday. Wong has the second most goals in the Division-I history of Quinnipiac University with 68. Kilpatrick was the third-leading scorer on the 2010 Kelly Cup champion Cincinnati Cyclones with 16 points (7G, 9A). McIlveen spent last season playing in Germany's Elite League with the Wolfsburg Grizzly Adams and the second-tier Bundesliga with Freiburg EHC.

Tonight the Road Warriors will be honoring local military heroes by offering free tickets to active military members and veterans. Servicemen and women who wish to attend the game can receive one free ticket by presenting military identification at the BI-LO Center Box Office.
