Alaska Aces News Release
Alaska Aces defenseman Chad Anderson has been loaned to the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League, Aces Head Coach Brent Thompson announced on Thursday. Anderson has played in all nine games for the Aces this season, and joins Lake Erie in time for a two-game weekend beginning Friday night. The Aces return home for a three-game set with the Ontario Reign this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Military Appreciation Weekend. For more information, please call the Aces at 907.258.ACES or visit them online at www.alaskaaces.com.
Anderson, 28, is in his fourth pro season, having spent almost his entire career in the AHL. In his 174 game career, Anderson has played 163 of them in the AHL. In his rookie season, Anderson played for the Philadelphia Phantoms, and the last two years suited up for the Hamilton Bulldogs. This season was his first in the ECHL since a two-game stint with Las Vegas as an amateur. The Monsters will be the third AHL team, and the fifth pro squad that Anderson has played for in his career. Prior to turning pro, the Chisago City, MN native spent four seasons playing collegiately for the University of Alaska-Anchorage. In nine games with Alaska, Anderson had one goal, three assists, six penalty minutes, and was a +3.
The Aces return home for a three-game set with the Ontario Reign this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Military Appreciation Weekend. The Aces will wear military-themed jerseys on Friday and Saturday, and will auction them off to fans following the game on Saturday night. On Friday and Saturday, you can bring an unwrapped, plush toy to the game, and throw it onto the ice after the Aces first goal, as part of the Aces Toy Toss collected for the Toys for Tots donation this holiday season. Then following Sunday's game, the Aces will host the first Fred Meyer Skate with the Aces session this season. Ticket specials are currently available through the Aces office.
