GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville scored multiple runs in three innings, highlighted by a seven-run second in a 15-0 walloping of the RiverDogs in South Atlantic League action at Fluor Field Tuesday evening.

Charleston drops its third straight in falling to 2-4, while Greenville wins its fourth straight improving to a Southern Division best 5-1.

The loss marks the first shutout for Charleston since Sept. 2, 2010, a 1-0 loss to Greenville, and is also the worst loss since the RiverDogs became a Yankees affiliate in 2005. Defensively, the RiverDogs committed five errors for the second time in three games and have 18 errors over the last five games.

Greenville exploded for seven runs in the second inning against Charleston starter Shane Greene in seizing a 7-0 lead. Brandon Jacobs and Jose Garcia hit consecutive RBI singles, while Lucas LeBlanc added a two-out RBI single, and Bryce Brentz hit an opposite-field two-run home run to complete the lengthy frame.

Greene (1-1) lasted 3.0 innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

The error bug bit Charleston with two outs in the sixth, as Greenville scored four runs on two Charleston miscues, and the lead upped to 11-0. Felix Sanchez's groundball was booted allowing LeBlanc to sting a two-run triple for a 9-0 lead. Brentz added a RBI single and scored on a dropped fly ball off the bat of Miles Head.

Charleston got the first two outs of the eighth inning, but another two-out error opened up a four-run inning to advance the lead to 15-0. Vazquez and Jacobs were issued bases-loaded walks, Garcia smacked a RBI single, and Vazquez completed the scoring by coming home on a wild pitch.

Manny Rivera (2-0) combined with two Greenville relievers on a seven-hitter, as the southpaw worked 5.0 full innings, permitting just five base hits with two walks and a season-best eight strikeouts. Juan Rodriguez fanned five batters over 2.0 scoreless innings, while Jordan Flasher finished the whitewashing with three punchouts in 2.0 innings. All told, Charleston struck out 16 times and has whiffed 29 times over the last two games.

Kyle Roller had two of Charleston's seven base hits and is 10-for-20 to start the season.

Game three of this series, set for Wednesday at 7 p.m., features Charleston southpaw Nik Turley (0-1, 14.73 ERA) getting the ball against Greenville righty Anthony Ranaudo (1-0, 0.00 ERA), the 39th overall pick in the 2010 Draft.
