Rome, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Rome Braves Tuesday night in front of 2,002 fans at State Mutual Stadium. The four game series is now tied at a game a piece.

The GreenJackets took the lead in the third on an RBI triple by Raynor Campbell and an RBI single by Adam Duvall for the 2-0 score. Augusta extended their lead in the fifth with two runs thanks to back to back homeruns by Duvall and Josh Mazzola.

The Braves jumped right back into the game in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jakob Dalfanso singled and Ramon Flores reached on a fielding error. After one out, Keenan Wiley singled to score Dalfanso. Flores later scored on a ground out for the second run of the inning. Elmer Reyes singled home Wiley to make the score 4-3.

The GreenJackets added one run in the seventh as Carlos Willoughby singled and later scored on an RBI hit by Mazzola. Augusta pitching held Rome scoreless for the remainder of the game.

Justin Schumer (1-1) gets the win for Augusta, while Carlos Perez (0-1) of the Braves is credited with the loss. Drew Bowlin gets his first save of the year.

Rome continues their series with Augusta starting tomorrow at 1pm. All You Can Eat Seats are just $20.
