Augusta GreenJackets News Release

Augusta, GA - In recent months, the news has been full of things shutting down. Two and a Half Men, the NFL, and nearly, the federal government have all disappointed those who depend on them by stopping work and closing their doors. One CSRA institution is proud to buck that trend and reopen to their loyal guests on Friday as Augusta's other springtime tradition returns this week.

The Augusta GreenJackets will open their 24th straight home season on Friday night at Lake Olmstead Stadium when they host the West Virginia Power at 7:35 p.m. Currently all box and reserved seats are sold out for the contest, but general admission seats remain on a first-come, first serve basis while supplies last. Tickets can be obtained by calling (706) 922-WINS or online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.

Preparations are currently underway at Lake Olmstead Stadium to get the ballpark ready for Friday's opener.

"We're excited to be welcoming our loyal fans back to the ballpark for another great season of GreenJackets baseball." said GreenJackets General Manager Nick Brown. "In a day and age where things come and go all the time, we're glad to offer an experience that our fans consistently love."

Friday's opener begins a nine-game homestand against the Power and the Delmarva Shorebirds. The April 15th contest will begin at a special 7:35 p.m. start time and tickets currently are available for each and every game on a single-game basis. Season tickets can also currently be obtained by calling 706-922-WINS or online at www.greenjacketsbaseball.com.
