July 7, 2015 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT, Wisc. - The Beloit Snappers open up a six game homestand on Wednesday as they play two games against the Cedar Rapids Kernels and then four games against the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.
We open up the homestand on Wednesday with our second Tap Take Over night, courtesy of Miller/Coors. You can enjoy some great craft brews all night long on our left field deck for just $15. The choices of craft beers will include Leinenkugel's IPL, Leinenkugel's Big Eddy Imperial Stout, Peroni, Pilsner Urquel, and Crispin Pacific Pear Cider.
On Thursday you can play Ball Park Bingo, courtesy of Grand Avenue Pub, and we will be giving away another 40 inch flat screen TV, thanks to Sam's Club. You can register for the TV giveaway at the Grommes Millwork Fan Services booth in the concourse. That's where you can pick up your Bingo card as well.
Friday is another fireworks night with a Kid's themed fireworks show after the game, presented by Budget Truck and Auto Body. Friday is also Scout Night. You can get discounted tickets for your scout group, go out on the field with the Snappers players for the National Anthem, and a Beloit Snappers commemorative patch!
Our second bobblehead giveaway of the year will be on Saturday. We will be giving away Matt Olson Bobbleheads, courtesy of TruGreen, to early arrivals that night. Olson was our first baseman in 2013 and hit .225, 32 doubles, and 23 homers as a 19 year old for Beloit. The day after, Olson will be playing in the MLB Futures game in Cincinnati at 2:00 PM CST on MLB Network.
Sunday, July 12th and every Sunday home game is Stateline News Family Fun Sunday. Look for your Buy One Get One coupon in the Stateline News and the Janesville Messenger. 12 oz. bottles of Leinenkugels are just $2 at the Firehouse Grill and on both decks. After the game, weather pending, kids will get to run the bases and play catch in the outfield, courtesy of Mercy Health System.
Also, on Saturday and Sunday fans can bring their well-behaved dog to the park for the Snappers' first Bark in the Park event, courtesy of Mars Pet Care and Pedigree. The owner of the dog will have to sign a waiver saying that the dog is up to date with its shots and that the owner will clean up after their dog. Fans that decide to bring their dog to the ballpark will be required to sit in the Pedigree General Admission section in right field, closest to the right field deck. On Sunday, fans will be able to have their pooch participate in a parade around the field on the warning track at 1:20 PM. Water bowls, wading pools, and treats will be stationed around the ballpark.
The homestand concludes on Monday, July 13th at 7:00 PM. Every Monday home game is WJVL and WCLO Monster Deal Monday. You can get two GA tickets, two hot dogs, two sodas, two popcorns and two adjustable hats. All for just 24 dollars, thanks to WJVL and WCLO. Fans over the age of 21 can also get $1.50 Miller 12 oz. drafts in the entire ballpark.
The Snappers are 5-7 in the second half, good for fourth place in the Midwest League's Western Division. The Snappers return home to Beloit for six games starting on Wednesday, July 8th. To buy tickets go to www.snappersbaseball.com, stop by the office, or call 608-362-2272. Stay tuned to the team website, Facebook, and Twitter for all up to date Snappers' news.
