West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Ross Seaton picked up right where he left off, and Derek Hill picked up the offense as the West Michigan Whitecaps defeated the Lake County Captains 3-0 Tuesday at Fifth Third Ballpark.
The Whitecaps and Captains found themselves in a pitcher's duel, watching the game move to the fifth inning still scoreless. In the fifth, Zach Shepherd drew a one-out walk and advanced to third on a double by Franklin Navarro. Later in the inning, Derek Hill ripped a two-out, two run triple to the gap in right-center to give the Whitecaps a 2-0 lead. "[Brady] had embarrassed me twice earlier in the game," Hill said. "I wasn't going to let him get me out again." Rashad Brown followed with an infield single to score Hill, giving West Michigan a 3-0 lead.
