Altoona Curve News Release

CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve will take a trip back to Rydell High on Wednesday, August 26 for "Grease Night." Actor and Cumberland, Md. native Eddie Deezen, known for playing Eugene in the classic film, will be on hand for the game as the Curve take on the Reading Fightin Phils.

The night will feature Grease-themed on-field games and other activities based on the 1978 musical. Deezen will be participating in on-field games as well as an autograph session that will give fans the opportunity to meet the long-time actor.

Deezen, who currently lives in Los Angeles, is a noted baseball fan, and has appeared as an actor or voice talent in more than 80 films, television shows and video games since his role in Grease, including The Polar Express, WarGames, Dexter's Laboratory, Oswald and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water.

Still popular over multiple generations, Grease won multiple awards, including the People's Choice Award for Favorite Overall Motion Picture in 1979. The soundtrack from the film was the second-best selling album in the United States in 1978. The film and its music were also nominated for multiple Golden Globe Awards and an Academy Award that year.

"Grease Night" will be held on August 26 at Peoples Natural Gas Field when the Curve face the Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. with gates opening at 6.

It will also be a 4-Pack Wednesday, presented by WALY 103.9, featuring four tickets, four hot dogs and four regular sodas all as low as $39.
