
Grasshoppers Late Start Leads Them to a 5-4 Victory over the Dash

GREENSBORO, N.C. The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Winston-Salem Dash 5-4 on Saturday, May 4th. The Grasshoppers improved to 15-10 while the Dash fell to 11-15. Winston-Salem outhit Greensboro 9-6 as the Dash had six mishaps.
Infielder Charles McAdoo led the Grasshoppers offense going 2-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Infielder Mitch Jebb followed close behind as he went 2-4 with two runs scored. Hits for Greensboro were also tallied by Jack Brannigan and Nick Cimillo.
Leading at the plate for the Dash was outfielder Shawn Goosenberg as he went 2-4 with a home run, a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Infielder Jacob Gonzalez followed close behind as he went 2-4 with a double and one run scored. Hits for Winston-Salem were also tallied by Bryce Willits, DJ Gladney, Wes Kath, and Weston Eberly.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Alessandro Ercoloni as he tallied six strikeouts and gave up six hits, four earned runs, and two free bases on 3.2 innings of work. Jack Carey recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 2-0 on the season. Cy Nielson tallied his first hold while Brandan Bidois got his second save.
Starting on the mound for Winston-Salem was lefthanded pitcher Noah Schultz as he tallied six strikeouts and gave up two hits, two runs (one earned) and one free base on 3.1 innings of work. Jose Ramirez took the loss for the Dash and fell to 2-1 on the season.
