
Gove leads Bruins to win

The Providence Bruins skated to their second straight victory in a wild 3-2 win over the Hershey Bears at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence on Friday night. The Bruins are in sixth place in the Atlantic Division with their 4-4-1-2 record (11 points). The Bruins fired a season-high 43 shots on goal in the game, and outshot Hershey, 22-4 in the third period.
Providence left wing David Gove and center Brad Boyes each notched a goal and two assists on the night, with Gove netting the game-winner in the third period on his second goal of the season. Left wing Dan LaCouture tallied his second goal of the season as well. Third-year defenseman Kevin Dallman had two assists in the game.
Boyes is now tied for fifth in AHL scoring with 6-10-16 totals in 11 games.
Bruin goaltender Peter Hamerlik stopped 4 shots to gain the win in 24:08 of ice time. Hamerlik replaced Hannu Toivonen at 15:52 of the second period after Toivonen was assessed a game misconduct for fighting Hershey goaltender Peter Budaj. Toivonen stopped 14 of the 15 shots he faced in 35:52 of action.
The Bruins begin a home-and-home series with the Hartford Wolf Pack on Saturday night in Connecticut at 7:05 p.m. All the action will be broadcast live on WDDZ AM-550 and on the team website, www.providencebruins.com.
The teams return to Providence on Sunday, November 14 at 4:05 p.m. Following the game, Bruin forwards Brad Boyes and Colton Orr will sign autographs on the Dunkin' Donuts Center concourse by Section 110.
