Norfolk moved into first place in the East Division with a 4-2 win in Binghamton... On Thursday, Edmonton scored three power play goals and once on a delayed penalty in a 4-1 win over Utah.

LOOKING AHEAD:
New York State Thruway rivals Syracuse and Rochester meet in a home-and-home series this weekend, heading in opposite directions in the North Division standings... The Crunch haven't won â and the Amerks haven't lost â since a 3-2 Syracuse decision on Oct. 31... Rochester's four straight wins have come after a 1-4-2-1 start to the season, while the Crunch are winless in four heading into the weekend... Ryan Miller is coming off a 35-save shutout in the Rochester net, his fourth win in five decisions... For Syracuse, Pascal Leclaire has not allowed a goal in two home starts this year, going 1-0-1 with two shutouts... Friday's game ends a six-game road swing for the Crunch, who will play 11 of 14 on home ice starting with Saturday's rematch.
Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton clash at the Wachovia Spectrum on Friday night, with the in-state rivals each riding long winning streaks... The Phantoms have won seven in a row, two shy of the franchise record set in 1997, while allowing just 10 goals during that span... Patrick Sharp's scoring streak is also intact; the third-year pro has a point in all nine games this season... The Penguins have rattled off five straight wins, and are 6-1-1-0 against East Division foes this year... Shane Endicott has scored a goal in eight of the Penguins' first 12 contests in 2004-05, including three straight entering Friday's game.
Houston and Milwaukee, the last two Calder Cup champions, could be battling for first place in the West Division when they meet Saturday afternoon at the Bradley Center. The Aeros, who are in Grand Rapids on Friday, start their weekend two points back of the Admirals after a 6-1-0-1 run in their last eight contests, including back-to-back shutouts on Nov. 6-7... Milwaukee has earned a point in all 10 of its games in 2004-05, starting its AHL title defense at 8-0-1-1... Three of Admiral Timofei Shishkanov's four goals this year have been game-winning scores.
Elsewhere this weekend, Binghamton co-coach John Paddock tries for a sixth time for career win number 500 when the Senators play in Hamilton on Friday... Wilkes-Barre visits Bridgeport on Sunday for the first time since the Penguins' Game 7 overtime win in last year's division semifinals... Sunday's game between Norfolk and Philadelphia will be seen live on Comcast SportsNet in Chicago (DirecTV Ch. 640).
