
St. John's Maple Leafs Make Roster Moves

The St. John's Maple Leafs announced today that forward Kris Newbury has been recalled from the Pensacola Ice Pilots of the ECHL. Newbury has six points including two goals and twenty penalty minutes in five games this season. During the 2003-04 campaign Newbury led the Maple Leafs with 153 penalty minutes and recorded 20 points (5G,15A) in 72 games.
Earlier this week, goaltender Todd Ford was recalled from the Ice Pilots to back up J.F. Racine for this weekend's games against the Chicago Wolves. Ford has a 2-0-0 record, a 1.50 avg. and a .945 save percentage in two games this season with the Ice Pilots. Ford was Toronto's 3rd choice, 74th overall in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
The St. John's Maple Leafs take on the Chicago Wolves tonight and Saturday at Mile One Stadium. Game times are 7:35pm and will be broadcast live on Radio NL (930AM), www.sjmapleleafs.ca. Friday's game will also be broadcast LIVE on Rogers Television (Ch.9).
