TRENTON, NJ - The Binghamton Mets ripped the Trenton Thunder for a season-high 18 hits and Darin Gorski tossed a career-high eight shutout innings in a 12-0 win Saturday night at Waterfront Park. The B-Mets reached .500 for the first time since May 23 with their third straight win.

The B-Mets unloaded on the Thunder for 18 hits, including a season-high four home runs. Josh Rodriguez became the second B-Met in as many games to collect five hits. The shorststop finished a home run shy of the cycle. Eric Campbell launched two home runs and set a career-high with five RBI.

Binghamton wasted little time to grab the lead. For the fifth straight game, the B-Mets plated a run in the opening frame. Josh Rodriguez started by ripping a triple against starter Shaeffer Hall. Matt den Dekker brought him home by singling up the middle. Rylan Sandoval doubled the B-Mets lead with a solo home run in the second.

Hall's struggles continued in the fourth. Kai Gronauer and Pedro Zapata started the inning with singles and were driven home when Rodriguez laced a double to left, giving Binghamton a 4-0 advantage.

Binghamton used the long ball to extend their lead against the Trenton bullpen. Ryan Pope took over for Hall in the sixth. Reese Havens greeted the righty by ripping a solo shot to right, his third homer of the season. Eric Campbell tagged Pope for a two-run round-tripper in the seventh.

The early lead was more than enough for Darin Gorski. The left-hander faced no more than four hitters in each of his first seven innings. Gorski scattered five hits through the first seven frames and never allowed any Thunder hitter to reach third.

Binghamton put the game out of reach in the eighth. Havens reached on a fielding error by Luke Murton to start the inning and scored two batters later when Addison Maruszak booted a ground ball. Joe Bonfe, a defensive replacement for Jefry Marte at third in the sixth, followed by ripping an RBI single to left. Eric Campbell capped the frame by ripping a three-run bomb to left, his second homer of the game.

Gorski's shutout stretch nearly came to an end in the eighth. After Yadil Mujica reached on an error by Havens at second, the lefty allowed a pair of singles to load the bases. The southpaw escaped unharmed by getting David Adams to line out to short and inducing Melky Mesa to bounce into an inning-ending double play to short.

Gorski (4-3) spread out seven hits over eight innings and struck out three while walking none to earn his second straight win. Erik Turgeon came on in the ninth and posted a scoreless inning to secure the series victory.

The B-Mets (29-29) look for their first road series sweep of the season Sunday afternoon at 1:05 PM. RHP Greg Peavey takes the mound for the B-Mets against RHP Brett Marshall. The Horizons Federal Credit Union pre-game show for the day's action begins at 12:50 PM on Newsradio 1290 WNBF.
