
Baysox Reel in Third Straight Win

Manchester, NH - The Bowie Baysox (26-34) pounded out 17 hits and topped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (22-38) 7-3 on Saturday night for their third consecutive win.
Antoan Richardson had three hits and reached base five times, Robbie Widlansky also had five hits and Brandon Waring hit his seventh home run of the season to lead the way for the Baysox.
The Baysox got out to the early lead in the top of the first inning. Richardson drew a leadoff walk and then went first to third on a groundout by Jonathan Schoop. With two outs in the inning, Widlansky singled to right to knock in Richardson and give the Baysox a 1-0 lead.
With two outs in the second, Allan de San Miguel hit an RBI single that scored Brandon Waring and extended the lead to 2-0.
The Fisher Cats tied up the game in the bottom of the second inning. With one out, Mark Sobelewski hit a solo home run that got the Fisher Cats on the board. Then with two outs in the inning, Ryan Goins hit an RBI single that evened up the game at 2-2.
In the top of the fourth inning, the Baysox took the lead back. Richardson and Schoop hit back-to-back one out singles and then Rhyne Hughes hit an RBI single to make the score 3-2.
The teams traded runs in the fifth inning and then in the sixth inning the Baysox added two more runs. With two down and Widlansky at second, Waring homered to extend the Baysox lead to 6-3.
In the ninth the Baysox got an insurance run. Josh Barfield led off with a double and then with two outs Schoop hit an RBI single that made the score 7-3.
Sean Gleason picked up the win going five innings and allowing three runs, two earned on seven hits with two strikeouts.
Greg Burke pitched the final 1.1 innings without allowing a run to earn his 11th save of the season.
Chad Jenkins got the loss allowing four runs on 10 hits in four innings of work.
Tomorrow in the finale, the Baysox will send RHP Tim Bascom (3-4, 4.21) to the mound against the Fisher Cats' RHP Joel Carreno (1-3, 3.28).
The Baysox are in the midst of a six-game road trip. They will return home on Tuesday, June 12 for a six-game homestand that will include fireworks, a pint glass giveaway, and their annual Legends of Wrestling Night featuring Bret "The Hitman" Hart.
