Amarillo Gorillas News Release

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Gorillas want their fans to think about the children this Saturday night when they host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.

The annual Teddy Bear/Gorilla toss to benefit the Eveline Rivers Society will be held at 7 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. Fans are encouraged to bring a new or slightly used Teddy Bear/stuffed animal or gorilla to the game on Saturday. When the Gorillas score their first goal, fans can throw the Teddy Bears, stuffed animals and gorillas onto to the ice to support the Eveline Rivers Society. Fans may also purchase a stuffed Gorilla at the game for just $5.

"This game has always proven to be a big hit for the fans and we hope they will make a child's Christmas brighter by bringing a Teddy Bear, stuffed animal or gorilla and throw it on the ice," said Director of Community Relations Denis J. Puska. "We want this to be the biggest and best Teddy Bear Toss yet."

As a lead up to this game, several Gorillas players will be helping out at the Eveline Rivers Society on Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The game will mark the first visit by the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs to Amarillo since prior to the merger of the Western Professional Hockey League and the Central Hockey League.

Tickets for this Saturday's game and all home games are available at the Civic Center Box Office, Panhandle Ticket Outlets including United Supermarkets, Randy's Music Mart and the WT Event Center in Canyon. Fans can also charge by phone at 806-378-3096, charge on line at www.panhandletickets.com or purchase tickets at the Gorillas hockey office at the corner of eighth and Tyler in the lower level of the Commerce Building or by calling 806-242-7825.
