Lalonde will be behind bench for Brahmas next game

Fort WorthâFt. Worth Brahmas head coach Todd Lalonde will be back behind the bench for the Brahmas this Friday night (Dec. 13) when his team travels to Tulsa to take on Northwest Division leading Tulsa Oilers.
Lalonde was not on the bench for Ft. Worth for the Brahmas 2-1 win this past Saturday night (Dec. 7) at the Ft. Worth Convention Center against the Corpus Christi IceRays. After experiencing extreme abdominal discomfort, Lalonde checked himself into the Harris Methodist emergency room at approximately 4:30 in the afternoon. After being examined by doctors, Lalonde was instructed to go home and not coach that night's game. After resting at his residence this weekend, Lalonde was back in his office on Monday afternoon.
Player/assistant coach Chad Michalchuk and volunteer assistant Cameron MacDonald coached the Brahmas to the win on Saturday night, snapping a five game winless streak for Ft. Worth in the process.
Lalonde is looking forward to guiding his team this weekend.
"Not being there Saturday night was tough," said Lalonde. "But it was best for me to rest up and try to get well. Chad and Cameron did a great job, and the players turned in a winning performance. Getting two points and a win was the best medicine I could have received. I'm looking forward to coaching again this weekend."
The Brahmas will face the Oilers (who have a CHL best 36 points on the season) this Friday at the Pepsi Coliseum with the opening face off scheduled for 7:35 p.m.. Ft. Worth will then head on to Oklahoma City on Saturday night for a 7:05 p.m. battle with the Oklahoma City Blazers. Both games are scheduled to be broadcast live on KTFW 92.1 FM.
