Indianapolis Ice News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN-- The Indianapolis Ice announced today that goaltender Shawn Silver was selected as this week's CHL Goaltender of the Week. It marks the third time in the last five weeks that Silver has collected the CHL's weekly award.

Silver is coming off a record-shattering week in which he set the new CHL record for consecutive scoreless minutes, by not allowing a goal in 222:01. Silver's perfect stretch bettered the old mark by Tulsa's Rod Branch which was 192:17. The old Ice IHL record was held by Jimmy Waite (155:07 in 1989-90) and the old CHL Ice record was held by his goaltending mate, Jamie Morris (135:20 in 2001-02).

His weekly numbers included a 2-1-0 record, 1.01 goals-against-average, one shutout and a .964 save percentage (81/84). The two wins were over the Tulsa Oilers, who entered the series with Indy with the most points (36) in the CHL.

Before giving up two goals in Sunday's 3-0 loss at Memphis, Silver was unbeaten in regulation in his last ten games and had not lost since 11/2 at Fort Worth (4-2). Overall numbers during the ten-game span included an 8-0-2 record, 1.07 GAA, two shutouts and a .962 save percentage.
