Goloubef Assigned To Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Friday that defenseman Cody Goloubef has been assigned to the club by its NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Goloubef was recalled by Columbus late Thursday evening but was inactive for the Blue Jackets in their game against St. Louis on Friday. A third-year pro, Goloubef has one goal in 10 games with the Blue Jackets and has 12 points (5g-7a) in 32 contests with the Falcons in 2012-2013.

A 23-year-old from Oakville, Ontario, Goloubef has accumulated 42 points (12g-30a) in 130 AHL contests and has one goal in 11-career NHL games. He was selected by Columbus in the second round (37th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Springfield heads to Worcester on Saturday and Portland on Sunday. After playing at Adirondack on Friday, Apr. 12, the Falcons return home for Fan Appreciation Weekend, hosting Providence on Saturday, Apr. 13, and Connecticut on Sunday, Apr. 14.
