Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that catcher Ramon Ortega has been released and infielder Omar Artsen has been placed on irrevocable waivers for the purpose of granting his release.
The Goldeyes have 20 players on their active roster, including 11 pitchers and nine position players.
Winnipeg begins a seven-game homestand Monday night at Shaw Park with the first of four games against the Sioux City Explorers. The Ottawa Champions are the opponent for the final three games of the homestand next weekend.
