Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes made two transactions prior to Wednesday night's game at Laredo, signing left-handed pitcher Eric Eadington, and trading right-handed pitcher Dylan Rheault to the Sioux City Explorers in exchange for a player to be named later.

Eadington made one start earlier this season for the Gary SouthShore RailCats, allowing one earned run in two innings on May 20th at St. Paul.

Eadington signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a non-drafted free agent in 2011 after a four-year career at Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts). A native of Orange, California, Eadington (pronounced EE-ding-ton) played five seaons in the Dodgers' organization, compiling a 13-9 record and a 4.24 ERA in 128 appearances, 127 of them in relief. Eadington entered the 2016 season with 191 career strikeouts in just 155.0 innings pitched. The 28-year-old left-hander made one appearance in 2015, pitching a scoreless inning for the Dodgers' Arizona League affiliate (rookie level). The Dodgers assigned Eadington to the prestigious Arizona Fall League in 2012 where he struck out 15 batters in 12.1 innings. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound Eadington reached the Double-A level in the Dodgers' system three straight seasons from 2012-14.

Rheault made one appearance for the Goldeyes, pitching one-third of a scoreless inning on May 22nd at Joplin.

The Goldeyes' active roster remains at 23 players.

The Goldeyes wrap up their three-game series at Laredo this evening at 7:05 p.m. All the action can be heard locally on 93.7 FM CJNU and worldwide at www.cjnu.ca
