Goldeyes Add Infielder Edgerton

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes signed infielder Jordan Edgerton on Sunday.

Edgerton hit .255 with seven home runs and 33 RBI in 70 games played last season for the Kansas City T-Bones. The Mount Holly, North Carolina native scores 29 runs with 15 doubles, two triples, eight stolen bases, and 18 walks. Defensively, Edgerton committed just 11 errors at third base while turning 13 double plays.

Edgerton was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the ninth round in 2014 out of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (Pembroke, North Carolina). The 6-foot-1, 190-pound infielder played three seasons in the Braves' organization, reaching High-A Carolina in 2016. Edgerton is a .241 career hitter in four professional seasons with 18 home runs and 188 RBI in 365 games played. The 24-year-old Edgerton owns a .932 fielding percentage in 342 career games at third base.

Edgerton appeared in nine games this season for the T-Bones, going 8-for-36 (.222) with two doubles.

The Goldeyes' active roster now stands at 23 players, which is the American Association maximum during the regular season.
