AirHogs Fall in Finale vs. Explorers, Prep for T-Bones Tuesday

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Left fielder Dillon Thomas picked up two hits, including another double, but the AirHogs could not overcome an early 5-0 deficit in the series finale vs. Sioux City. The AirHogs dropped the contest 10-2 and will now turn their attention to Kansas City, which travels to Grand Prairie to open a three-game set on Tuesday.

Miguel Rosario (0-2) got the start for the AirHogs and last 5.2 innings. He surrendered five runs, of which only one was earned. A key AirHogs catcher's interference error in the fourth opened the gates for Sioux City, which took a four-run lead after four and a 5-0 lead in the sixth.

Thomas cued up a pair of runs for the AirHogs in the bottom of the sixth against former Washington National Taylor Jordan . With Texas down 5-0, Thomas led the frame off with a double. Third baseman Stewart Ijames drove in Thomas with an RBI triple and scored himself on a groundout by shortstop Chen Chen .

The Explorers quickly rebuilt the lead though, tagging relievers Lu Yusong and Cal Drummond for five runs in the eighth and ninth. Catcher Dylan Kelly finished with three hits and four RBIs to lead the way for the X's, who improved to an American Association-best 13-4 with the win.

Jordan (3-0) picked up the win after going 5.2 innings and allowing two runs (two earned). Rosario lowered his ERA to 3.70 despite suffering his second loss.

The AirHogs (2-14) will face the Kansas City T-Bones (9-7) in a three-game series starting at 7:05 Tuesday at AirHogs Stadium. Starters for both teams are TBA. A live stream will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs and americanassociationbaseball.tv.
