Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that defenseman Barry Goers has been called up for his second stint in the American Hockey League this season. Goers will join center Pete MacArthur in playing for the Lake Erie Monsters.
Goers, 25, missed two Wranglers games earlier in February while called up to the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The 5'9'', 175-pound blueliner appeared in two games for the Sound Tigers and was +3 in plus/minus rating. Appearing in 50 games for Las Vegas this season, the Ivyland, Pa. native has tallied 26 points (5 goals, 21 assists) and 40 penalty minutes. MacArthur, 26, was called up to Lake Erie on Feb. 13, and has collected three points (2 goals, 1 assist) in six games so far with the Monsters.
Wranglers defenseman Jamie Fritsch has returned from a three-game appearance with the AHL's Houston Aeros as well. Fritsch, 27, was previously called up to the Sound Tigers for one game in November, and has recorded eight points (1 goal, 7 assists) and 58 penalty minutes in 38 games for Las Vegas.
The Wranglers take on the Idaho Steelheads on Friday and Saturday night while continuing a nine-game road series before returning home on Sunday, March 18, for St. Baldrick's Night. Wranglers players will shave their heads on the ice to raise funds and awareness for St. Baldrick's Foundation. To donate to your favorite player, please visit the team page here .
