Pink in the Rink Is Tomorrow

March 1, 2012 - ECHL (ECHL)
Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

It has been an exciting day at the BI-LO Center with final preparations being made for tomorrow's Pink in the Rink presented by Greenville Hospital System to benefit the Mary Kay Foundation. The pink ice has been installed and the crew will put on the finishing touches tonight so that it is ready to skate on tomorrow! Check out a picture of the pink rink:

While tomorrow night promises to be a lot of fun with the Road Warriors taking on the South Carolina Stingrays, we shouldn't forget that it's a very serious cause that we are working to benefit. The goal of Pink in the Rink is to raise money, and awareness, in the fight against breast cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. The Road Warriors family is not exempt from those numbers. Defenseman Lee Baldwin's grandmother is fortunate enough to be a 15-year breast cancer survivor and tomorrow night we'll have a special video where Lee shares his side of that story.

Be sure to come out early to the BI-LO Center tomorrow because the doors open for Pink in the Rink presented by Greenville Hospital System to benefit the Mary Kay Foundation 5:30 p.m. We're opening the doors early because there is a Hockey 101 and Women's Health Education Session beginning at 5:45. Road Warriors president and general manager Neil Smith as well as Dr. Brian McKinley - director of GHS' Breast Health Program will lead the session which is free to anyone who has a ticket to the game.

We can't wait to see you at the arena tomorrow night!
