
Penguins Recall Three from Nailers

WHEELING, WV -The Wheeling Nailers announced today that the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins have recalled forward Matt Rust and defenseman Cody Wild from loan to the Nailers of the ECHL. In addition, the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Philip Samuelsson to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from the Nailers.
Wild, 24, has chipped in five assists in 42 games this season for the Penguins. A fourth-year pro out of Providence College, Wild has appeared in 169 AHL contests with Springfield, Providence and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and compiled 41 points (5g-36a).
Rust has posted four goals and seven assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton over 36 games. Currently in his rookie season after completing a four-year career at the University of Michigan, Rust has now skated in three contests with the Wheeling Nailers this year.
Samuelsson is also in his first year of professional hockey after skating two seasons with Boston College. The 20-year-old native of Leksand, Sweden earned an NCAA Championship in 2010 during his freshman year with Eagles. He has appeared in 41 games this season for the Penguins, netting a goal and seven assists. Yesterday's contest with Wheeling was his ECHL debut.
The Nailers' next game takes place on Friday night at 7:00, when they visit the Toledo Walleye at Huntington Center.
