Goaltender Mole Recalled To Bridgeport

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies, proud affiliate of the New York Islanders, announced today that goaltender Mike Mole has been recalled to Bridgeport of the AHL.

Mole, who signed with the Islanders in October of 2006, appeared in 15 games last year with Bridgeport going 3-8 with a 3.23 GAA and a save percentage of .897. With this transaction, the third-year pro will have to postpone his homecoming to Phoenix where he went 15-27-3 in 48 games with a .900 save percentage and a 3.28 GAA during his rookie season in 2005-2006 with the RoadRunners.

This is the first transaction of the Islanders affiliation involving a Utah player who has been called-up.

2006 ECHL All-Star Brett Jaeger will be the starting goaltender for the Grizzlies tonight when they open the season at 8:11 p.m. at US Airways Center in Phoenix.

The Utah Grizzlies, of the ECHL, are owned and operated by the Elmore Sports Group and play at the E-Center of West Valley City; which hosted hockey during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Entering their 14th year as an organization, the Grizzlies have an all-time record of 499-435-98. Jason Christie enters his third season as the Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations for the team who announced an affiliation with the NHL's New York Islanders on May 22, 2007.
