
Turple Called Up to AHL Chicago

Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that goaltender Dan Turple as been reassigned to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League by the Atlanta Thrashers. In addtion, Gwinnett has added Ervins Mustukovs as an emergency back up goaltender and will be available for tonight's game at Pensacola.
Turple posted an 18-13-2 record with a 3.77 goals-against average and a .870 save percentage in 34 games last season with the Gladiators. Drafted by Atlanta with the 186th overall pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Turple appeared in two of Chicago's three preseason games in September before being assigned to the Gladiators.
Mustukovs appeared in 16 games last season with the Toledo Storm where he recorded an 8-6-1 record and 2 shutouts. He finished the 2006-07 season with a 2.85 goals against average and a .922 save percentage with the Storm.
Gwinnett opens the regular season on October 19th as they travel to Pensacola to take on the Ice Pilots before finishing out the home and home series against Pensacola with the Gladiators home opener for the 2007-08 season on Saturday, October 20th at 7:35 p.m. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that will have 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
