Atlanta Gladiators News Release
Two Hundred! With a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss at Augusta, Jeff Campbell posted his 200th career point in his Gladiators career. Campbell entered the 2007-08 season with 164 points in three seasons. He has notched 7 goals and 31 assists for 38 points this year pushing his all time total to 202 points. Campbell has become just the 5th player all time in team history to reach 200 or more points in a career joining Jason Elders (479), Brad Schell (242), Hughes Gervais (232) and Dave Craievich (225) with 200 or more points. With 15 points this season, Mike Vigilante is just 15 points shy of reaching 200 points in his Gwinnett/Mobile career.
"Double 7": Forward Jeff Campbell notched his 7th goal of the season in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the South Carolina Stingrays to push his point scoring streak to 14 straight games for the Gladiators. Campbell has notched at least a point in each of the Gladiators past 14 games and has recorded 5 goals and 20 assists for 25 points during his current streak.
Living High on the "Hog"! Derek Nesbitt made his first trip to the American Hockey League as he was called up to the Rockford IceHogs on December 25th. Nesbitt has appeared in 3 games with Rockford posting a pair of goals and an assist for 3 points with the IceHogs.
Leading the "D": Jamie Milam notched an assist for Gwinnett in Sunday's 3-2 shootout loss to the south Carolina Stingrays to remain in the top 5 in scoring among ECHL defensemen. Milam has posted 22 points this season off of 8 goals and 14 assists for Gwinnett in 29 games this season.
A Winner: Tomas Pospisil notched his third goal of the season for Gwinnett in the Gladiators 3-1 win on December 27th. It was also Pospisil's third game winning goal of the season for Gwinnett. His three game winning goals lead Gwinnett in that category this year while he shares second among league rookies in game wining goals this year.
Finding Twine: Lou Dickenson notched his 12th goal of the season in last Friday's 4-3 overtime loss at Augusta. With 12 goals on the season, Dickenson moves into the team lead in goals scored this season. The Orleans, Ontario native surpasses Derek Nesbitt and Mike Vigilante, who each have 11 goals on the season, into first place on the Gladiators for goals scored this season.

Last Week's Games: December 27th, Gwinnett 3, Columbia 1 - W For the third consecutive game, Gwinnett gave up the game's first goal but the Gladiators were able to snap their two game losing skid with a win over Columbia. After falling behind less than a minute in the contest, Stuart MacRae notched his 3rd goal of the season just 72 seconds after Columbia's first marker to tie the game at one. Tomas Pospisil recorded his third goal of the season and third game winning goal for Gwinnett just 15 seconds into the second period while Andy Brandt collected his 7th goal of the season at the 18:27 mark of the second to round out the scoring. Lou Dickenson and Jeff Campbell each finished with a pair of assists in the contest. With the assists, Campbell pushed his assist streak to 12 games. Turple finished with 21 saves in the win for Gwinnett.
December 28th, Augusta 4, Gwinnett 3 - OTL Tomas Pospisil recorded three assists but it wasn't enough in a 4-3 overtime loss at Augusta. The Lynx opened up a 1-0 lead after the first period. Gwinnett notched two goals on the power play, Anderson with his second with Gwinnett while Lou Dickenson with his 12 of the year to give the Gladiators a 2-1 lead after two periods. The Lynx took a 3-2 lead on the Gladiators before Jeff Campbell pushed his point scoring streak to 13 games for Gwinnett with less than 4 minutes left in the third pushing the game to overtime. Augusta then won the contest at 3:20 of overtime. Dan Turple finished with 20 saves in the overtime loss while Gwinnett went 2-for-8 on the power play.
December 29th, South Carolina 3, Gwinnett 2 - SOL Jeff Campbell notched his 7th goal of the season to extend his point scoring streak to 14 games but Gwinnett could not get past South Carolina in a shootout. Jeff Mason opened the scoring with his second goal of the season 3:35 into the contest. Campbell gave Gwinnett a 2-0 lead at the 4:32 mark of the second period. South Carolina notched two third period goals to push the contest to overtime and a shootout. Gwinnett and South Carolina exchanged goals in the first four rounds of the shootout before the Stingrays posted the win in the 13th round of the shootout. Dan Turple notched 28 saves in the shootout loss. Jamie Milam, Bryson Busniuk, Andy Brandt and Mike Hamilton each had an assist for Gwinnett in the contest.

Gwinnett leads the season series against the Inferno by a 2-0-0 record but the Gladiators but this is the first trip of the season for Gwinnett to the carolina Coliseum this year. Gwinnett has outscored the Inferno 7-2 over the two games this season. Lou Dickenson and Jeff Campbell each have 3 points against the Inferno this year.
January 4th @ Pensacola Ice Pilots - 8:05 p.m. - AccessNorthGa.com
Pensacola won the last meeting by a 6-5 score on December 22nd while the Gladiators lead the season series with a 2-1-0 record and a 1-0-0 record at the Pensacola Civic center. Jeff Campbell has 9 points against the Ice Pilots this year while Mike Hamilton has 3 goals and an assist for Gwinnett against Pensacola.

Gwinnett leads the season series against the Sea Wolves by a 3-0-0 record. The Gladiators have outscored the Sea Woves by a 15-8 margin this season. Derek Nesbitt has posted a Gladiators team high 6 points against the Sea Wolves this season. Dan Turple has started two of three games for Gwinnett this season against Mississippi.

Celebrating its 20th Anniversary as the Premier 'AA' Hockey League in 2007-08, the ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in three states and has grown to be a coast-to-coast league that has 25 teams in 17 states and British Columbia in 2007-08. The 25 teams includes the Mississippi (Biloxi) Sea Wolves, who return after missing two seasons in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and the expansion Elmira (N.Y.) Jackals. The ECHL will play 900 games beginning Oct. 18 and concluding Apr. 5.
