Grizzlies Fall In Alaska: Lose 3-2 Third Period Lead

Anchorage, Alaska - The Utah Grizzlies (13-13-0-3) allowed five third period goals and were unable to hold a 3-2 third period lead falling 7-4 to the Alaska Aces Saturday night in Anchorage. The Grizzlies are now 1-1 on their current season-long seven-game road trip after a 5-4 shootout win over Alaska Friday night. Olivier Labelle recorded the fifth Grizzlies hat trick of the year in the contest with three goals.

Utah jumped up 2-0 in the first with a five-on-three power-play goal from Olivier Labelle and Justin Bourne.

Utah led 3-2 after two periods with Olivier Labelle adding his second goal at 7:09 to give Utah a 3-1 lead.

In the third, Alaska scored three goals in 1 minute and 27 seconds from the 5:01 mark to 6:28 to take a 5-3 lead and they never looked back.

Rob Sirianni and Scott Burt each had two assists for Utah in the game.

The Grizzlies outshot Alaska 32-25 in the game.

The Grizzlies return to action Monday in Alaska to play game three of their seven-game road trip. Face-off is scheduled for 9:15 p.m. Utah returns home Friday, January 11 hosting Idaho at the E-Center at 7:05 p.m.
