Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled left wing Jeff Giuliano from the Monarchs and have placed left wing Luc Robitaille on the injured reserve list (retroactive to October 29) with a fractured lower right leg, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Giuliano, 26, has played in seven games with the Monarchs this season and has five points (3-2=5) and four penalty minutes while posting a plus-minus rating of plus-six. Upon his call-up to the Kings, the 5-foot-9, 205-pound Giuliano has a four game scoring streak, collecting four points (3-1=4) in four games with the Monarchs. The Nashua, New Hampshire, native was signed by the Kings as a free agent on August 12, 2005. He will wear No. 53 and will join the Kings today in Phoenix, where he is expected to make his Kings/NHL debut.
Robitaille, 39, missed last night's Kings-Dallas game due to the injury. In 11 games with the Kings this season, the 6-foot-1, 215-pounder from Montreal has recorded seven points (4-3=7) and four penalty minutes while posting a plus-minus rating of plus-five to go along with one game-winning goal. In 1,377 career NHL games with the Kings, Detroit Red Wings, New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins, Robitaille has 1,377 points (657-720=1,377) and 1,129 penalty minutes.
The Monarchs face off against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at the Arena at Harbor Yard on Friday, November 4 before returning home to host the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday, November 5. Ticket availability for Saturday's game is 250 seats in the Gold level and 2,500 seats in the Silver level.
