Giroux Recalled from Hartford

New York -- New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that forward Alexandre Giroux has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Giroux, 24, has skated in 64 games with Hartford (AHL) this season, registering 34 goals and 25 assists, along with 73 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating. The 6-3, 191-pounder currently leads the Wolf Pack in goals (34) and ranks third in scoring on the team with 59 points. His 34 goals, which is a career-high, is also tied for sixth in the AHL.

In 354 career AHL games with Grand Rapids, Binghamton and Hartford, the Quebec City, Quebec native has collected 121 goals and 105 assists for 226 points, along with 468 penalty minutes.

Martin Rucinsky will return to New York today to be examined by Dr. Martin Posner after suffering a broken finger on Frday night at Florida.
