Bulldogs Drop 3-2 Decision to Crunch

Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Crunch scored twice in a span of 2:07 late in the third period to come from behind and defeat the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 on Saturday night at the Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter.

Andy Canzanello gave Syracuse a 1-0 lead at 9:40 of the opening frame when he took a wrist shot from just inside the blueline that beat Hamilton goaltender Yann Danis. The Bulldogs tied the game at the 12:19 mark when Jean-Francois Jacques snapped a shot past Crunch netminder Andrew Penner.

Hamilton outshot Syracuse 14-13 in a scoreless middle stanza.

At 10:21 of the third period, Brad Winchester snapped a shot from the high slot behind Penner to give the Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. The Crunch tied the game at the 16:00 mark when Geoff Platt scored his 26th goal of the season with Syracuse on the power play. Joe Motzko scored the game-winning goal with 1:53 remaining when he rifled a shot past Danis.

Danis stopped 30 shots, while Penner made 37 saves.

Hamilton was 0 for 3 on the power play while Syracuse went 1 for 3.

Hamilton's next game will take place on Friday, March 31st when they host the Chicago Wolves. Game time is 7:30 p.m. and it can be seen live on Hamilton's Cable 14.
