PHOENIX - Rattler wide receiver/defensive back Randy Gatewood has been named "Offensive Player of the Week" by the Arena Football League.

Gatewood (5-10, 182 pounds) had a career night during the Rattlers 64-52 victory over the Utah Blaze. The 11-year veteran caught 13 passes for 149 yards and a career game-high seven touchdowns. The seven scores tied the franchise single-game record set by Calvin Schexnayder in 1997.

The two-way star has been named "Ironman of the Week" three times this season and earned "Ironman" monthly honors in March. This award marks the second time a Rattler has been named "Offensive Player of the Week." In Week 4, offensive specialist Damien Groce brought in the award.

"It was a night to remember," said Gatewood. "I am glad I was able to help the team, but more importantly, I am happy that we were able to come home with the win."

The Rattlers, who are atop the Western Division, return home to take on the Chicago Rush at US Airways Center on Saturday, April 15. The contest, which is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. PST, can be seen on OLN and heard on ESPN 860AM. Ticket packages can be purchased by calling 602-514-TDTD.
