AFL I Arena Football League (1987-2008)

USA Football and Arena Football League team up to produce "Values of the Game" PSAs

April 11, 2006 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release

VIENNA, Va. - USA Football, non-profit organization leading the development and growth of youth football, has teamed with the Arena Football League (AFL) to produce four public service announcements that focus on the life lessons learned through playing football.

AFL Commissioner David Baker, along with youth football players, coaches and parents, filmed the pubic service announcements earlier this week at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, home of the AFL's Las Vegas Gladiators and ArenaBowl XX Las Vegas.

"Football teaches infinite life lessons," said Commissioner Baker. "We cannot be more thrilled to partner with USA Football, who shares the philosophies of the Arena Football League when it comes to the value of youth sports. We are grateful to be given the opportunity to communicate these invaluable messages." Each of the four value vignettes - Teamwork, Perseverance, Sportsmanship and Community - will feature a message from Commissioner Baker along with supporting video from AFL and youth football action.

"We're excited about our partnership with the Arena Football League and share their same mission to strengthen the game of football," said Scott Hallenbeck, Executive Director of USA Football. "Youth football is fertile ground to teach and nurture these important values and life lessons that will help create productive and responsible young adults."

The PSA's are set to air during AFL broadcasts on NBC, FSN and OLN, as well as in all of the League's 18 arenas, beginning in May and continuing throughout the AFL playoffs.
