Crush's Floyd captures second straight Defensive Player of the Week award

DENVER - The Arena Football League announced today that Colorado Crush defensive specialist Rashad Floyd was named the league's ADT Defensive Player of the Week for Week 11 of the 2006 season. This marks the second consecutive week in which Floyd has garnered this award and the fifth weekly league honor that he has earned in his five-year career.

After snagging two interceptions in Week 10, FLOYD (6-0, 180, Portland State) added three more picks, all in the Colorado end zone, in the Crush's 73-48 Central Division win at Grand Rapids on Saturday. He added a team-high six tackles, a pass break-up and forced a fumble that was returned 23 yards for a touchdown by teammate WR/DB Ahmad Hawkins. Floyd is currently tied for the AFL lead with eight interceptions and ranks second in the league in tackles with 84 on the year.

The 2005 ArenaBowl Champion Colorado Crush travel to Kansas City for a second straight road contest when they take on the expansion Brigade on Sunday, April 16th at 11:00 a.m. The Brigade are co-owned by former Denver Bronco and Kansas City Chief Neil Smith.
