Garrow Returns From Utah; Greeley Goes On IR

BILOXI, Miss. – Mississippi Sea Wolves general manager and head coach Bob Woods announced today that defenseman Mike Garrow has been returned by the Utah Grizzlies of the American Hockey League, while center Stephen Greeley has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve.

Garrow, 29, comes back to the Sea Wolves after registering three goals, one assist and four penalty minutes in 13 games with Utah in his first AHL call up of the season. The 6-foot-1 and 210-pound Garrow, who is under contract to Cincinnati of the AHL became the fifth Mississippi player in 2004-05 to see action at the next level. Acquired in a trade with the San Diego Gulls on March 8, Garrow has collected two assists in three games with Mississippi. A native of Kenora, Ontario, Garrow started this season by appearing in 46 games as the captain for San Diego, where he tallied eight goals, 29 points and 34 penalty minutes.

Greeley, 24, has netted three goals, eight points and four penalty minutes in 22 games with the Sea Wolves since being acquired on February 7 in a trade with the Charlotte Checkers. The 5-foot-7 and 160-pound Greeley opened 2004-05 with the Pee Dee Pride, where he picked up six assists and two penalty minutes in 14 games before appearing in 11 games with Charlotte, where he notched one goal, four assists and eight penalty minutes. A native of Scituate, Massachusetts, Greeley is in his first professional season after playing four seasons at Boston University.

Mississippi begins its quest for the 2005 Kelly Cup on the road tonight at 6:05 p.m. CT versus the Gwinnett Gladiators in Game 1 of the best-of-five American Conference Quarterfinals at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia.
