Garrett Mock, Suns Shut out Legends 2-0

The Hagerstown Suns (14-25, 50-59) bats were strong against the Lexington Legends (20-19, 55-54) defeating them 2-0 Wednesday night at Municipal Stadium.

Washington Nationals pitcher Garrett Mock threw three scoreless innings allowing just one hit in his rehab start.

The Suns came out right in the first inning with Rick Hague hitting a line drive double. Putting Hague in perfect scoring position at third was Adrian Sanchez who grounded out. Driving in the first run of the game, JP Ramirez hit a single to left field. Ramirez was advanced to third after Justin Bloxom grounded out. Destin Hood made the score 2-0 bringing in Ramirez after reaching on a fielding error by the Legends.

Mock was followed by Paul Applebee (3-4) the winning pitcher of the night. Applebee pitched into the seventh giving up zero runs. Luis Garcia got the hold coming in during the seventh and finished the eighth with one strikeout. Getting the save was Rob Wort who struck out the side in the ninth to finish the game.

Zach Grimmett got the loss allowing two runs in six innings.

The Suns and Legends finish off the homestand tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m for "Thirsty Thursday.
