Tonight

It's going to be the largest crowd in Saskatoon Blades (46-14-4-1) history as they welcome WHL phenom Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats (33-28-3-1) to SaskTel Centre.

The Blades have a chance to show around 15,000 fans what they're all about. One of the top teams in the WHL, Saskatoon took down the Pats in their barn on Mar. 5th 5-2 thanks to a Trevor Wong hat-trick. There's a good chance this matchup occurs in the first round of the WHL playoffs, and both teams are gunning to prove they're the better squad.

Saskatoon gutted out a 3-2 win yesterday at home against a desperate Brandon Wheat Kings club fighting for their playoff lives. Alternate captain Charlie Wright, and forwards Josh Pillar and Justin Lies all scored in the bout. Saskatoon is three points away from their fifth 100-point season in franchise history sitting third in the Eastern Conference.

Who to Watch

20-year-old defenceman Aidan De La Gorgendiere scored his 12th goal of the season vs the Swift Current Broncos Wednesday. The 6-foot-1 Langley, BC. native is averaging just under a point-per game in his final WHL season with 62 in 63 outings. De La Gorgendiere is four points away from claiming sole possession of tenth for points by a defenceman in Blades' history currently at 152 in 246 games.

Flin Flon, MB's own JustinLies took the monkey off his back and launched it to the moon. The 6-foot-2 bruiser scored his first goal since Dec. 16th at home vs the Spokane Chiefs, moving him up to eight on the year. Lies showed his scoring capabilities early in the season and has a massive weight off his shoulders as the most important time of the year approaches. In 53 games, the 19-year-old winger has 21 points.

If you never heard of rookie netminder Austin Elliott before this season you have now. The man nicknamed "Stone Cold" is having a remarkable first year in the WHL. From Strathmore, AB., Elliott is third in goals-against-average (2.15) amongst goalies across the WHL. Elliott was sensational on the road Wednesday vs the Broncos stopping 29 of 31 shots.
