
Pats Wrap up Weekend at SaskTel Centre

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats end their three-in-three weekend in Saskatoon against the Blades at 4:00 p.m. inside the SaskTel Centre.
The Pats have clinched a playoff berth for the first time in almost five years, as they defeated the Moose Jaw Warriors 7-3 on Saturday inside the Moose Jaw Events Centre as the club won it's second game in three contests (2-1).
Connor Bedard finished the game with six points as well as his 11th career hat-trick, and his league-tying best 11th game-winner of the season. Braxton Whitehead (1G-1A), Zack Stringer (1G-1A) and Riley Ginnell rounded out the scoring for the Pats while Drew Sim made 45 saves for his 27th victory of the season. The final shots were 48-23 for Moose Jaw. The Pats finished 1-3 on the power play and 6-7 on the penalty kill.
Meanwhile, the Saskatoon Blades are coming off a 3-2 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings on Saturday for their second straight victory. Charlie Wright, Josh Pillar, and Justin Lies (GWG) scored for the Blades in the victory. The contest was tied at two after one but Lies scored the go-ahead goal in the second. Jake Chaisson tallied two assists and Ethan Chadwick made 23 saves in the win.
The final shots were 26-25 for Saskatoon. The Blades went 1-3 on the power play and 3-3 on the penalty kill.
The Blades are 10-1 over their last 11 games since February 25 and are 14-1-1 over their last 16 games since February 11. If the playoffs started today, the Regina Pats as the sixth seed would take on the Blades who are the third seed.

The Pats are 15-9-2 over their last 26 GP since Jan. 8, which is when Connor Bedard returned from the World Juniors, defeating Calgary twice (6-2 & 6-5), Saskatoon (7-4), Portland (4-3), Swift Current (5-2), Lethbridge twice (3-2 & 4-2), Moose Jaw twice (8-4 & 7-3), Medicine Hat (6-3), Brandon 3x (4-3, 6-3, 6-3), Winnipeg (5-3) & Red Deer (6-5)...during that time, they have outscored their opp. 117-to-111.
The Regina Pats have clinched a playoff berth for the first time since the 2017-18 season...the Pats have now made the playoffs 15 times since the 1999-2000 season...the last time they were in the playoffs was 2017-18 where they lost in the Eastern Conference quarter-final.
