Adirondack Thunder News Release

WHO: Adirondack Thunder (13-4-2-3) @ Brampton Beast (12-7-1-2) WHAT: ECHL REGULAR SEASON GAME

WHEN: Thursday, December 15, 2016 @ 11:00 AM

WHERE: Glens Falls Civic Center - Glens Falls, NY

TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Thunder take on the Brampton Beast for the first time this season as they head north of the border for two games in Canada. Adirondack was victorious in five of six meetings between the two teams a season ago, including a perfect three-of-three record in Brampton.

EIGHT GOALED FREAKS: The Adirondack Thunder set franchise records for most goals scored in a game and largest margin of victory in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Norfolk Admirals. The Thunder, who also set a single season mark for most goals scored in a period with four in the third, had previously scored six goals three times, including once in November against Idaho and twice a season ago.

THE DROP OF A HAT: Adirondack forward Mikkel Aagaard collected the first Thunder hat trick of the season with his three tallies in Saturday's win over Norfolk. Aagaard's hat trick, which was the first of his professional career, was the third in franchise history, combining with three-goal outputs from Ryan Lomberg and Greg Wolfe during the 2015-16 season. Aagaard has now collected 13 points (7-6-13) in 13 games with the Thunder this season.

TY-ING THE KNOT: Thunder forward Ty Loney amassed six points (2-4-6) in just two games last week against the Norfolk Admirals. The 6-4 winger picked up a career-best four points (1-3-4) in Saturday's win over Norfolk as he increased his team-leading season total to 25 (11-14-25) on the season. Loney is also the lone Thunder player scoring at over a point-per-game this season.

WELCOME TO McDONALDS: Netminder Mason McDonald returned to the net on Saturday and responded by making 25 saves on 26 shots in the convincing victory. The 20-year old goaltender has a 4-0-1 record in his last five games played, to go along with a .937 save percentage and a 1.97 goals against average. On the season, McDonald now ranks ninth in the ECHL among qualified goaltenders with a 2.50 GAA and tied for ninth with eight victories.

WALL-E: Adirondack Thunder defenseman Alex Wall extended his scoring streak to four games with an assist in Saturday's win over Norfolk. The rookie leads all active Thunder defensemen with 15 points (2-13-15) on the season after Mathieu Brodeur's recall to Syracuse and the AHL. The Newfoundland native's 15 points are tied for third in the ECHL amongst all first-year defensemen.

GOOD AS NEW: Adirondack welcomes three additions to their roster in advance of this morning's game with Brampton. Goaltender J.P. Anderson was returned to the Thunder from the AHL's Utica Comets on Tuesday, following a four-day stint with the team. The Thunder have also signed defensemen Travis Jeke and Nolan Kaiser. Both blueliners have skated in the SPHL this season, with the Knoxville Ice Bears and Huntsville Havoc respectively.
