Utica Assigns Laplante to Alaska

TULSA, OKLAHOMA - The Utica Comets of the AHL have announced that forward Yan-Pavel Laplante has been assigned to the Alaska Aces of the ECHL.

Laplante, 21, skated in 11 games with the Comets this season. He did not register a point and had 2 penalty minutes.

Laplante was a third-round draft pick of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2013 NHL Draft. He played most of the last two seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Gatineau Olympiques. In 63 games with Gatineau last season, Laplante scored 34 goals with 31 assists for 65 points and 88 penalty minutes.

To make room on the roster, the Aces released forward Andrew Miller. Miller played in 4 games with Alaska and did not register a point.

Alaska is on the road for a single game against the Tulsa Oilers Wednesday, December 14, then at Missouri Friday and Saturday December 16 and 17. All three games start at 4:05pm AST.
