North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays battle the Reading Royals today at 4:05 at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania. Today is the second of three meetings between the two teams this season. Listen to all the action LIVE at StingraysHockey.com and on AmericaOne.
The Stingrays and Royals opened their respective 2013-14 seasons against each other last night with Reading prevailing 3-2 in the shootout. Forwards Jack Downing and Jordan Owens scored goals for the Stingrays in the second period and goaltender Jeff Jakaitis registered 26 saves. Forward Wayne Simpson recorded his first professional point with an assist on Owens' tally.
The Stingrays wrap up a three-game season-opening road trip Friday, October 25 against the in-state rival Greenville Road Warriors at 7:00 p.m. at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena and celebrate Opening Night, Stingrays Alumni Game, Zooperstars! and 2013-14 schedule giveaway presented by Savage Law Firm on Saturday, October 26 at 7:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum vs. the Road Warriors.
Hall of Fame players such as Jason Fitzsimmons, Dave Seitz, Brett Marietti, Rick Vaive, Rob Concannon and Matt Scherer along with fan-favorites Johann Kroll, Trevor Johnson and more return to the Coliseum ice for a pregame Alumni Game at 2:00 p.m. Admissions is FREE with purchase of an Opening Night ticket.
