Colorado Eagles News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Colorado Eagles fell to the Thunder, 5-0, in Stockton, California.
Stockton didn't waste any time in the first period as Thunder forward, Garet Hunt tipped the puck over Eagles goaltender Trevor Cann just :32 after the start of the game. Forward Kirill Kabanov rocketed a puck right past Cann from the hash mark 12:20 into the first to put Stockton up 2-0. Brayden Irwin, a Stockton forward, took advantage of their first power play of the night to finish the first frame with a score of 3-0.
Less than 3 minutes into the second, Stockton defenseman Mike Keenan put another puck past Cann to put the Thunder up 4-0. Colorado goaltender Adam Brown, who was the star of the Eagles last game in Bakersfield, was called in as relief for Cann but even with Brown in net a wrist shot from the high slot by defenseman Mike Dalhuisen put the Thunder up 5-0, 16:22 into the second.
The Thunder were able to hold off any Eagles action during the third stanza. Adam Brown only allowed one goal out of 17 shots from Stockton, but the Thunder goalie Brian Foster was on point, as he was able to stop all 29 of 29 shots, to shut out Colorado.
