DULUTH, Ga. - After losing 5-3 to the Greenville Road Warriors in their season debut, the Gwinnett Gladiators were stymied again by a stout defense, losing game number two of the season, 3-1. In that lone Gwinnett score, three more Gladiators picked up their first points of the season, raising the number of players with a point to 11.

In a flip of last night's game, Greenville was able to score the first two goals of the night with Jordie Johnston's and Lee Baldwin's scores. Johnston's goal came unassisted, just 1:29 into the match, while Baldwin's power play goal at 12:53 came via Elgin Pearce and Michael St. Croix.

The Gladiators were able to turn things back their way with a strong last 10 minutes of the second period. After killing a Philippe Halley holding minor, Gwinnett turned a quick 3-on-1 jailbreak into a goal as Kurtis Bartliff scored his first professional goal, assisted by Halley and Martin Lefebvre at 10:50.

At 18:10, Greenville was able to extend their lead back to two goals as Johnston scored his second goal of the game via St. Croix and Brad Cole. That ended up being the final tally of the game as both teams weren't able to score in the third, despite the Gladiators outshooting the Road Warriors, 8-to-4.

Rawlings, the Third Star of the game, was particularly impressive for Gwinnett in net as he stopped 30-of-33 shots, including several from point blank range, but it was Connor Knapp that picked up the victory by only allowing one puck to pass through on 21 shots.

Gwinnett will return to action next weekend for their first road trip of the 2013-14 season when they take on the Orlando Solar Bears at Amway Arena on Saturday, October 26th at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 27th at 3:00 p.m.

The Gladiators next home game at the Arena at Gwinnett Center will be on October 30th at 7:05 p.m. against the Solar Bears. Tickets can be purchased online at GwinnettGladiators.com or over the phone - (770) 497-5100.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league and are affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
