TODAY: The Orlando Solar Bears (20-16-3-0) wrap up their weekend series with the South Carolina Stingrays (21-17-2-0) after splitting the first two games. Orlando is coming off a Saturday night performance in which the team matched its season-high for goals scored in a 7-4 win over South Carolina.
SCHOENBORN LOOKING TO BUILD ON COMEBACK PERFORMANCE: In his return to the lineup for the first time in nearly a month on Saturday, forward Alex Schoenborn had arguably his best outing of the season. The forward assisted on the eventual game-winning goal by Oleg Sosunov, tallied a goal of his own later in the game and recorded a personal season-high of +2. Had his scrap with South Carolina's Andrew Cherniwchan been considered a fighting major, he would have also joined Colby McAuley in recording a Gordie Howe Hat Trick.
MCAULEY CARRIES STREAK INTO TODAY'S GAME: Colby McAuley now has four points (2g-2a) in his last three games after chipping in a goal and assist in last night's 7-4 win. The forward also registered a new personal season-high of +3 in the victory over the Stingrays.
LEBLANC POWERING SUCCESS: Chris LeBlanc's four-point night on Saturday represented the 11th game this season in which the forward has made an impact on the scoresheet. The Solar Bears are 7-3-1-0 in games in which the second-year forward records a point.
NEXT GAMES: The Solar Bears continue their road trip when they face the Atlanta Gladiators on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 7:35 p.m. at Infinite Energy Arena. The Solar Bears return home to host the Jacksonville Icemen on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. for a Wine Down Wednesday. Fans can take advantage of $5 wine specials during the game.
