Tonight

The Saskatoon Blades (11-2-2-0) eye a weekend sweep along with sole possession of first place in the East Division, as they battle the very team they're tied with, the Brandon Wheat Kings (11-2-2-0), at the Subway WHL Hub.

Saskatoon is coming off a strong performance against the Moose Jaw last night, doubling up the Warriors 4-2. San Jose Sharks prospect Tristen Robins led the scoring charge with three points (2G-1A), and Koen MacInnes made 28-saves to earn his third victory of the season.

Both teams have mirror records, with the Brandon Wheat Kings holding a slim advantage in goals scored and allowed.

The Wheaties, meanwhile, are looking to rebound after falling 2-1 in overtime to the Regina Pats on Friday.

Tale of the Tape

This is the third of four meetings between the two powerhouses, with both teams splitting the season series thus far. Saskatoon won their first meeting by a 6-4 score back on March 22nd, and Brandon got the upper hand by a 3-1 score on April 4th.

Speedy forward Kyle Crnkovic earned the game's first star on March 22nd, picking up a pair of goals and a helper, while alternate captain Caiden Daley and forward Colton Dach also had multi-point nights.

Historically, both teams stack up fairly evenly, with the Wheat Kings holding a slight edge winning 12 of 21 games over the last five years. Last season, the Blades went 2-2-1-0 against Brandon.

Who To Watch

San Jose Sharks prospect Tristen Robins continues to rocket up the scoring charts, combining for seven points over the last two games. The 19-year-old is now up to a team-leading 22 points (10G-12A) on the year, finding the scoresheet in all but just two games.

Speedy forward Kyle Crnkovic has a team-leading four points (2G-2A) against the Wheat Kings this season, and also leads the Blades with 14 assists. The centreman comes into the game with back-to-back multi-point performances, including scoring a shorthanded marker against the Warriors last night.

Veteran Defenceman Wyatt McLeod earned the game's second-star last night after ripping home the game-winning goal against Moose Jaw. The pending WHL graduate sits second in team defensive scoring with eight points (2G-6A). His other goal this season came against the Wheat Kings on March 22nd.
