Kamloops, BC- The Prince George Cougars jumped back into the win column on Saturday with an emphatic 6-3 win over the Vancouver Giants at the Sandman Centre.
Prince George ended their three-game winless streak and snapped the Giants five-game win streak in the process. The win evened the Cougars' record to 2-2-1-1 through six games, as they sit third in the B.C. Division.
Jonny Hooker led the way, as he scored the game-winner and finished with four points (1-3-4). He was the game's first star. Ethan Browne chipped in with a goal and an assist and Hudson Thornton scored his first WHL goal in his debut. Craig Armstrong scored the team's first short-handed goal of the season, and Connor Bowie and Koehn Ziemmer also found the back of the net.

The Cougars put to an end the Giants' Trent Miner's shutout streak, as he had not allowed a single goal against in his previous five appearances. He surrendered five on 28 shots in the loss Saturday.
The Giants led 2-1 midway through the first period before the Cougars scored four unanswered goals to pull away.
