Last time they met: Ryan Hughes had a three point night (1G-2A) and scored the overtime game-winning-goal as the Saskatoon Blades crashed the Prince Albert Raiders' banner-raising & home opener celebrations. Tristen Robins also notched two points (1G-1A), as did Scott Walford (1G-1A) in his Saskatoon Blades debut.
What it means for Saskatoon: A win in Saskatoon tonight, after throwing the monkey off their back in Prince Albert last night, would help build early season momentum for the Blades.
The stat: Nine. The Raiders and Blades will play 9 more times in the 2019-20 Western Hockey League regular season, including tonight. The neighbourly rivals will be extremely familiar by the time the campaign is over.
The match-up: Blades' Centres vs Raiders' Centres - The Blades were bested by the Raiders' face-off men on Friday night. If Saskatoon are hoping to beat Prince Albert back-to-back, winning more face-offs would help.
It's a big night for: Ryan Hughes. Like Nolan Kneen last night, if Hughes dresses against the Raiders tonight, it will be for his 250th career WHL game. Three points and a game-winning overtime goal in his 249th WHL game might be hard to top, but we'd like to see him try.
