TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (31-17-4-5) open a season-high seven-game home stand that begins and ends with matches against the Stockton Thunder (17-41-1-0). The Reign are 5-0-0-0 against the Thunder this season, and are 2-for-2 at home.
DOUBLE THE FUN:
Reign captain Derek Couture leads the team in points against Stockton this season, having posted an eye-popping seven goals and three assists in just five games.
POWER-PLAY SPARK:
After matching a season-high stretch of five consecutive games without a power-play goal, the Reign special teams broke out in a big way on Monday evening, scoring all three goals in their 4-3 loss to the Grizzlies while on the man advantage. That total also matched a single-game season-high for the Reign as well.
REIGN GOALTENDING GROUNDS THUNDER:
In three games played against Stockton this season, Jussi Olkinuora has only surrendered four goals for a 1.34 goals-against average and .951 save percentage. Compounding matters for the Thunder is the fact that their two leading scorers against the Reign this season - Peter Sivak and Ryan Hayes - are now with different ECHL clubs (Sivak with Orlando; Hayes with Utah).
